You can also continue to earn money or charge for billable hours, which further serves to reduce the ‘real’ course costs.
Three easy steps…
1. You complete the Accredited Course/RPL Application Form and, if seeking recognition of prior learning, complete the self evaluation form/s for your chosen qualification level. An Assessor will contact you within 48 hours to discuss your needs and put together a custom built course to meet your requirements.
2. If skills recognition is sought:
- send to your Assessor with your application form your resume, copies of existing Certificates and Statements of Attainment and completed Self Evaluation Form/s.
- your Assessor will select the units for your chosen qualification that best meet your requirements.
- your Assessor will arrange for an assessment interview via Skype or in person to discuss how you have done things that relate to the unit/s being assessed in the workplace before. You will also be provided with assessment instructions that will outline the benchmarks required to achieve competency in the unit/s that you have enrolled in and contain a Self Reflection Form. You are not required to complete the Self Reflection Form but it will assist you in preparing yourself for the interview that will take place.
- you review the information on our website under the RPL tab on the page Tips and Hints to Prepare for Prior Learning Skills Recognition.
- you send your Self Reflection Form (if completed) to your Assessor in the following file format: name – selfreflectionform.pdf. eg JohnSmith-selfreflectionform.pdf.
- after the initial Skype interview your Assessor conducts a review of the evidence supplied and makes a decision on the other types of assessment methods and supplementary evidence that may be required.
3. If any training is needed then:
- you are provided with access to distance training for the units of competency that you require training in. You apply the new skills and knowledge that you have learnt over time and in different contexts either in your own workplace or in a simulated workplace environment at MBC’s campus;
- you complete the Self Reflection Forms that have been provided to you to record brief details of how you have applied your skills and knowledge;
- when you are ready to be assessed you contact your Assessor who will then discuss with you how the new skills and knowledge developed have been applied, observe you undertaking tasks, review work products developed and/or make a decision on the other types of assessment methods and supplementary evidence that may be required.
This assessment and training cycle is repeated for any other units that you are enrolled in that were not assessed at this time. Once eligible a Certificate for the Qualification and/or Statement of Attainment is issued to you without delay.
Your training needs will be identified at the outset and a customised course will be put together to best meet your requirements. You will be provided with the latest industry approved course training material to learn the skills and knowledge required for your chosen course in your own time and at your own pace. You will be able to study and learn in a structured and supportive environment that will help you to get the skills that you need, when you need them. You will receive regular one-to-one private tuition and assessment support with your own dedicated Assessor. You will also have access our best industry practice upfront assessment process to see how much of a qualification you may already be entitled which will save you time, effort and money.
